Come visit us this Saturday (9/15) at the Jersey Wakeoff located on 35 Yacht Club Drive, Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Sure to be a great time with beer and bbq to be served. If it’s anything like last year, you know the Red Bull girls will be there giving out some refreshments as well.

Along with a great vibe, exciting atmosphere, and serious competition…we’ll be giving out Limited Edition TrueFeel x Wakeoff tees to the first 60 guests who visit our tent. These tees are not for sale and cannot be found anywhere else…

Before I start this post, I’d like to start by thanking everyone who sent emails showing their concern during Hurricane Irene. We received over a hundred emails from people all over the US asking us how we’re holding up. We tried to get back to most of you via iPhone, but it was a bit tough since we were tackling other issues (flooding in our facilities, trees falling and 5 days without power, to name a few). So, to those whom we weren’t able to respond to; thank you for asking and all is well.

Another question we were asked was, “What did you do to prepare for the hurricane?” The answer to that question is…we attended a wakeboarding competition. It was a great time with a great crowd. It was a perfect time to get some wakeboarding in just before things got nasty. There were a few points during the competition where the sky got pretty grim and opened up but it wasn’t enough to slow down this event. Because of the gnarly weather we decided not to bring a camera, so pardon the photo quality and be thankful we had an iPhone.

If there was someone you’d expect to be at this event, it would be Red Bull…obviously.

This inverted little dude is non-other than Paulie Koch. With titles such as 2010 NJ Wakeoff Outlaw Champion, USA National Champion, WWA World Champion, and more. It was no surprise he was killin’ it out there. Pretty awesome for a 14 year old with sponsors like Fox Racing, GoPro, Nautique, Body Glove, Liquid Force, and Performance S&S. If you don’t recognize him from nationally televised wakeboarding events, you may recognize him from his very own show he has on the Disney Channel, “Getcha Head in the Game.” He’s an inspiration for both the young and the…not-as-young.

Overall, it was a great event. We got to meet up with some old friends and make some new friends. After the event, the water was cleared and boats were being taken out to prevent any damage from the upcoming weather. On the contrary, we decided to drop the boat in and do a little wakeboarding for ourselves. We got about 40 minutes of riding in before the sky turned black and began raining so hard that it felt like little nails. So, not much for preparation, but we tried to make the best of the weather we were given.
