Today was one of those days where you wake up, take a trip to the casino, and debate how much you plan on gambling. Do you put a certain amount of money in your right pocket just for gambling, then put all the winnings in your left pocket…or just keep playing your winnings trying to make it rise more and more only to find it’s shrinking by the second?
Then we arrive… this is Sugar House Casino located in Philadelphia, PA.
Upon entering, ALL must show valid ID and cameras/photos are strictly prohibited…
…so here are a few photos of inside Sugar House to give you an idea of the vibe:
The Refinery…a place to eat and chill. I thought the name was clever considering it was in the Sugar House. The place is one of the only spots consisting of clear glass windows allowing you to see what time of day it is without referring to a clock. The food was decent and definately filling considering their incredibly generous sized portions.
The lunch menu mainly consisted of flatbread pizza’s, sandwiches, soups, salads, and burgers. Service was great and food came out quickly and that was a pleasant surprise (there were 20 of us). This BLT was stuffed with what seemed like half-a-head of lettuce, 3 tomato slices, and 1/4lb of thick sliced smoked bacon served with garlic mayo sandwiched between 2 amazing slices of challah bread and served with a side of fries. What you don’t see a photo of below is the appetizer…Cast Iron Mac and Cheese made with aged white and tillamook cheddar, parmigiano-reggiano and spiral macaroni. It was gone before the camera had a chance to blink.
And now I’m hungry again.
