Banksy Los Angeles

So as many have seen, or atleast heard..the infamous street artist Banksy is in LA and on the prowl for his pre-Oscars guerilla marketing as his film “Exit Through The Gift Shop” was nominated. I can personally say that as a major influence in my style and preference of art and appreciation for street art, Banksy was the artist that has always captivated me in more than just a “simple artist.” There is no information to lead him to be any specific person, nor has he ever been in a position compromising his identity being completely obscure to anyone who has tried to figure him out. It’s what keeps the art he throws up on walls, buildings, billboards and so on, so suspensful. Lately in LA it’s been more like “where will Banksy be next” throwing up pieces worth millions of dollars, than any other questions asked. We all know it’s a genius plot to get people talking and do all the marketing for him while he holds his Oscar nomination (though we know he won’t attend). I’m personally more interested in seeing if Banksy will do anything before, during, or after the show. If there is anyone that can do it…it’s none other than Banksy himself.

Below are a few of his more recent works of art raising controversy and getting people talking throughout the streets.

So if you haven’t seen “Exit Through the Gift Shop” yet… it’s DEFINITELY worth the watch hype.
