A Box of Awesome

On June 17, 2013, in press, by True Feel

One of our clients dropped by this week to pick up their order and gave us this box of awesomeness. We always love these sorts of gifts that you can’t “technically” buy. It’s a sweet form of gratitude and we always appreciate that. Here is what was handed to me…

We did do something nice, and will continue to do so. Good thing we went to the dentist last week for some cleaning. Now it’s time for the good stuff.

Let’s see what’s inside…

This is amazing, and the best part is, is that what you see is only the top layer! This turned out to be a pretty good day.

Lunch.

On June 17, 2013, in press, by True Feel

About a week ago we took a roadtrip down to Annapolis, Maryland to participate in our annual Bella Machre charity run. This charity is to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities through loving care, guidance, and opportunity so that they can live life to its fullest. It’s a great cause and we fully support helping those in need whenever possible.

After the event, we attended a party (crab boil) a few minutes away where 800 crabs were cooking for our eating pleasure, along with corn, bread, a wide variety of appetizers and an insane amount of desserts. I wasn’t able to get a good shot of the spread for you since my hands were all covered in crab, but I was able to get a shot of the aftermath for what I had eaten…

Get Lucky

On June 14, 2013, in press, by True Feel

Of course this weeks song goes to Daft Punk for their hit “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell. We’re so glad for Daft Punk putting out this new album, and man is it good or what!? If you haven’t purchsed it or given it a listen yet, we recommend you do sooner than later. It’s sure to capture you in the beats and have you singing along by your second listen. We love these guys.

Happy Friday…enjoy your weekend everyone.

Epic Fail.

On June 7, 2013, in press, by True Feel

So in the news today, all of us loyal Verizon customers got some pretty bitter information that our phone records have been surrendered to the government (NSA) for our own “protection.” Though Obama’s idea of trying to “protect” America and it’s people of terrorist acts may have had good intention, this is certainly one of the most unconstitutional ways to go about it. I believe that anything can be acceptable within reason or to pinpoint a specific target, but not like this. They say you should have nothing to worry about since you’re not doing anything wrong. OK, that’s true, so leave our privacy where it should be and don’t snoop through something that’s not yours…and did you really think we’d never find out?

Now it’s time for some story-telling, more lies to protect the white house and it’s epic blunder of a plan, and try to sweet-talk American’s into trusting you won’t do something so intrusive and against everything this country stands for.

Here’s a small blurb from our friends over at Fox News:
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or Affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, quoted in full above, was written to guarantee what the Framers called “the right to be let alone,” and what we have come to call “the right to privacy.”

The Supreme Court has ruled consistently and repeatedly that its contemporary purposes are to prevent dragnets and fishing expeditions, lest the rights of the innocent be assaulted along with those of the guilty.

In fact, when enforced, it compels all in government to show some evidence of guilt before a judge can authorize the secret or forceful seizure of private information from or about you.

In criminal prosecutions, when the government fails to follow the Fourth Amendment, the courts discard whatever evidence has been offered that is the fruit of those failures.

Thursday morning, the American people awoke to learn of the most monumental, gargantuan violation of American values in our history…

…What is the value of the Constitution if the government can violate it on such an unimaginable scale, and get away with the violations?

Shortly after the Constitutional Convention completed its work in Philadelphia in 1787, legend has it that a vagrant approached Benjamin Franklin and asked him what the Convention produced. He reportedly answered “A republic, Sir, if you can keep it.”

Thursday morning we learned that the Republic has been lost. It is now a dictatorship.

Somehow we knew this would happen. There was always something that seemed like we were being fed nothing much more than hopeful thoughts and false promises. We didn’t fall for it once, and certainly not twice. You are what you stand for. We never wanted this, and we’d never stand for it.

Our collection released this shirt below in the Fall of 2008.

We were questioned and asked about the design by dozens of people. “What does it mean?”, “What does it represent?”, “Why is Dorothy having her basket searched?” Well, because she never did anything wrong, and neither did we…but somehow with the constitution and laws in place, we’re still not protected by our own country. Being spied on is being spied on, not matter how you look at it. Shame on you Mr. President. Now look what you did.

#UncleDrew

On June 6, 2013, in press, video, by True Feel

Pepsi has been on the run with a campaign for their Pepsi MAX product that 0 calories isn’t always what it seems…and neither is anything else from time to time. Kyrie Irving of the Cavaliers poses as an old man hitting up the streetball courts looking to give some kids (young bloods) a real life lesson. The best part about this in our opinion is that, kids on courts all over think they can go pro, or that they can make it in the big leagues with the all-stars. Watch the videos below and check out the faces of the notives to the court, then watch them get owned by Uncle Drew.

…then watch part II to the series when Uncle Drew meets up with long time friend Wes (Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves) to give some SoCal kids a hard earned lesson.

Mad World

On May 31, 2013, in press, video, by True Feel

This weeks song is “Mad World” by Gary Jules. I’m sure most of you have heard this song before as it’s not new..in fact, it’s 7 years old now. There have been many covers of it pretty recently, and that’s because it’s a good song. On the East Coast, it’s been getting nicer out between the streaks of rain and scorching humid days. This is one of those songs that seems to play more often when it rains.

Give it a listen and think about when you’d like it best…

Up In The Air.

On May 3, 2013, in press, by True Feel

So this weeks music spotlight goes to our friends “30 Seconds to Mars.” We had the honor of meeting and hanging out with these guys a few years ago along with having our faces be a part of their last album art on “This Is War.” We’re real stoked for their latest album to be released this coming May 21st. The album is titled “Love Lust Faith + Dreams” and can be pre-ordered here.

Not only is the band dedicated to their music, but also to their passion for art and film. Check out their latest single and video to go with it.

This is “Up In The Air”…

Happy Friday.

Those Days…

On April 27, 2013, in press, by True Feel

We came across some rare color photos from the Library of Congress that are from the 1930’s and 1940’s. We selected a few of our favorites from the batch and posted them here to share them with you all. We think they tell a subtle story about how things used to be and give us a better perspective of where things have gone. Back then life was so much more simple (so we’re told).
